Privacy Policy
Last updated September 4, 2026. Cut Corners is a Lightroom Classic plugin plus a marketing/checkout site at cutcorners.app — this page covers both.
The plugin
The plugin makes no network requests, ever. Detection runs entirely on your machine against your Lightroom catalog and exported previews; your photos, filenames, and folder structure never leave your computer.
License validation is offline: your key is checked against an embedded formula, not a server. The trial counter (how many images you've cropped on the free tier) is stored locally in Lightroom's plugin preferences and in ~/.cutcorners — nowhere else.
Diagnostics and logging (Plug-in Manager → Cut Corners: Support) are opt-in and write to a local report or log file on your machine only. Cut Corners never sends either one anywhere automatically — if you attach them to a support email, that's you choosing to send them.
The website
cutcorners.app collects a limited amount of data to run checkout and understand traffic:
- Analytics — Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (pageviews, referrers, performance metrics) and, where configured, PostHog (product events like starting or completing checkout). When PostHog is enabled, an anonymous browser identifier is passed to Stripe checkout metadata to connect website visits with purchases. We do not send your email address, card details, or license key as properties of these purchase events.
- Payments — purchases are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details; Stripe handles that under its own privacy policy. Your license key is derived from the Stripe checkout session, so no purchase database exists on our end.
- License email — if you buy a license, your email address and key are sent to you via Resend so you have a copy beyond the confirmation page.
- Error tracking — Sentry may capture stack traces from unhandled errors on the website (not the plugin) to help us fix bugs.
PostHog and Sentry run when their respective keys are configured. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights depend on the deployment configuration. To opt out of PostHog tracking in this browser, visit the homepage with tracking disabled. This preference also suppresses server-side PostHog events for new checkouts submitted from that browser with JavaScript enabled.
What we don't collect
No photos or scans, no catalog contents, no plugin telemetry, and no data broker or advertising integrations of any kind.
